Alcatraz

Beautiful day, fun trip, great company.

Nesting gulls; I'd never seen a baby gull before!

It always strikes me how tiny the cells are.

Fascinating exhibit with a rehabilitation theme in one of the newly refurbished buildings.  Inmates at other prisons were asked to imagine their future selves and create "identity cards" that described future success.  Shows the power of imagination as discourse to future possibility... that theme keeps recurring (title of a paper I wrote once).
