Caterpillar to Painted Lady Butterfly
We woke up to the same - three chrysalis, which had originated (with us) as tiny caterpillars. While making breakfast, I noticed that two had emerged and were slowly drying their wings, bits of red liquid dripping. Slowly, they began to flap their wings. In a couple of hours, we opened the top of our container and K gently let one of the Painted Lady Butterflies step onto her finger. Shortly after, we gasped together as it fluttered away, landing on a purple flower a few feet above us. Marvelous!

I wish I had been there to share the moment. Any pictures?
