Country Day: Morocco

They presented together on the ethnic groups and customs of Morocco, covering the Berbers (whose women have facial tattoos), customs regarding tea drinking, and both general Muslim beliefs and those of the Sufi Muslims (Whirling Dervishes). They heard presentations on Arab myths and the city of Marakkesh.

Our friend Caryn helped us to
"Story board" the book, with
the Mississipi representing both
itself and the plot.

G gets so animated making her points!

Ike always wants to be part of the action, in this case even
appearing to contribute to the drawing activities
(then falling asleep in the midst of everything)

Movie Making

Charles was hired to film a documentary about an alternative health fair and in the process also ended up hosting an Improv group's debut on local television.  We went and watched him in action - awesome!  And the girls are glad that Daddy is a movie star.  :-)

Grand Slam!

Best (and cutest) fan ever.
After a roasting day in the sun yesterday,
it was cold and windy this morning.

Moms can't be sports photographers.  At least, I can't.  When I get excited, I forget to snap.  So I got lots of batting photos, but when she actually made contact, I didn't click the camera.  Her grand slam was a great goal of hers and she did it due to a great deal of outfielding errors from the other team, which had been impressively nearly flawless earlier in the game.  But she did it!  And was so happy!  She called all of her grandparents as soon as she got home to report. But the great "Kodak moment," which I totally missed getting on camera, was when she came off the field and a teammate jumped into her arms in excitement.  Hurray for the Rockies!  A happy team is a team that is fun to cheer for!  And they really are improving, which is great to see.
