I read recently that "you know you're from California if..." and one of the categories was, "you say that you are going 'to the snow.'" Yep, that's us. "The snow" is a destination in and of itself. We go to experience the fluffy white stuff and in this case, we went as a result of two kids who are sick of virtual everything and wisely persuaded me that if we have to be virtual, we might as well be virtual from a motel room where there is snow to experience on breaks and after work. So that's what we did - walks in the snow before work, building a snow person at lunch time, sledding after work... and in one case running outside to experience falling snow in between meetings. Not a perfect work set up, but SO worth it. Few people around, so it felt safe. The kids even swam in the motel pool, surrounded as it was by snow. Super cool, super fun. (Charles' mobility is overall good for daily activities, but the snow creates a serious falling hazard, so he stayed home.)
