Cesar Chavez Holiday Hike

A day of hiking and working in the yard with a little California history/literature thrown in...

Hiking in the redwoods with (Ahwahnee), Mom, and K

Our bit of Ca history/literature:  at the pyramid that Ca writer Joaquin Miller built (near two other similar monuments).

Super spectacular view of two cities, two beautiful bridges (and of course these two, too!)

K spotted this beautiful Johnson's Jumper when we
were helping my Mom in their yard
after our hike

Easter Egg Decorating

Fun tradition.  Don't know if I will ever perfect making the necessary straight lines, but G has gotten much better at it and I'm trying...

Saturday Hike

The red, the purple... just thought this tiny groundcover was gorgeous.

And somehow, I can't seem to get over being awed by the gorgeousness of egrets

Religious Ed

Still online, but impressively well done. Pulled out my grandmother's St. Joseph statue for the discussion about St. Joseph and all the things we are called to build.

The Garden Grows

It grows, but, surprisingly, not as I'd expected:  the peas and the beans were all nibbled on by some creature and even bringing them up on the porch didn't seem to save them.  Two crops we have not tried before:  brussels sprouts and purple cabbage, are growing like crazy.  And the strawberries are back!  Radishes, celery, and tomatoes are doing well, as are budding flowers.  The carrots seem oddly fragile, though....  we shall see.

Not everything is pictured, but still... it's not much, but to me it is a happy scene

Stations of the Cross

At the head of the drive-through Stations of the Cross.  The experience of reflecting on this journey is so beautiful and moving that it always makes me cry, even in this format....

Hummingbird Along the Slough

Love the lines in this, though in person the hummingbird had a bright red throat that I couldn't capture in the photo...
