She's been helping to coach the Babe Ruth team, with awesome support and mentoring from her coach from the team she was on in her last season pre-Covid. Yesterday she coached solo for the first time! I admire her self-confidence and baseball intelligence and am so happy that she has been able to stay so involved in a sport that she loves . Proud of her!

A Spectacular Giants Evening
The weather was perfect - gloriously beautiful and we were comfortable in shorts - without ever being hot - late into the evening.
The stadium is gorgeous - is there any more beautiful, set next to the bay with the dazzling lights of the Bay Bridge behind?
The company - well, what can I say? The very best.
The safety protocols - loved the social distance seating (it hasn't been two weeks since G's second shot), which made for uncrowded fun. Even parking was easy - made a reservation online! (Not cheap, though.)
The game! Nerve-wracking at first, as K began to slink into her seat and the Giants fell behind 7-0. Then the comeback, the two splash hits (only the third time that has ever happened and the only time without Barry Bonds), the grand slam, and the ultimate 9-8 win!
The things you learn about your kids. I knew K knew a lot about baseball, but she used and then explained terms I'd never heard of. Apparently, she was also posting to her Giants fan Instagram account AND participating in two live group chats with Giants fans. An influencer! She said that afterward the starting pitcher viewed her video and liked her post, which is cool.
A great summer evening....

Cousin Love
"The bigs" clearly adore each other - G and A talk every day, often multiple times throughout the day. I love seeing this youngest cousin included in the love. He's a character, super smart and fun, and we all adore his company.

Gualala
We visited, hiked, picnicked, hit golf balls, and hung out. A great trip and totally worth the drive, even if we were there only 21 hours...

Dance Show
Online has advantages and disadvantages. Less travel is nice. Being able to focus on your own child's performance without sitting through the rest is nice (sorry, but true). But practicing online all year in your small room - not so great. I'll be happy for her when she can get back in person. For the annual show, I got to watch her performances online, but she was in person (masked) with her friends. I do love watching her dance. She sees flaws, I see beauty, hard work, and gorgeous expression of emotion and athleticism. She performed in lyrical, ballet, and jazz disciplines and also had classes in acro, tap, pre-pointe, and conditioning.

Spring Academic Kudos
Nice...
Plus! Her professor asked to display her presentation at next semester's science research event. And another professor recruited her for the debate team and the school paper.
